Halloween colors orange and black

Why are Halloween's colors

orange & black?

Black cats. Orange pumpkins. Notice a common color scheme during the Halloween season? But ever wonder why these two colors dominate Halloween? Why not green or purple? Pink? It goes back to history and tradition.

Explanations for the traditional Halloween colors vary, however, it is widely accepted that it has its roots in Celtic lore. Black is considered the symbol of death while orange is the reflection of the autumn harvest. It makes sense that given the history of Halloween, these two colors hold a special symbolic meaning.

Nowadays, people hold Halloween parties or contests using black and orange as its theme.
