Jason Voorhees

Jason. In the first installment, Friday the 13^th, he was just a memory to his murderous momma. He was referred to as the “boy.” When he “spoke” he demanded, “kill her mommy.”

The big brute enjoys killing camp counselors. Perhaps he just can’t get past his grudge against those who had let him drown and killed his momma.

Like Michael Myers, he is the silent but deadly type of killer. However, Jason is a bit more Neanderthal-like. Not as smooth as Michael Myers or Freddy Krueger. But Jason is intense and thorough with his work.

Anything and everything. But does seem to prefer the machete.

Hockey mask. He acquires it in the 3^rd installment: Friday the 13th Part 3: 3D. He changes masks in the tenth installment, Jason X and dons a futuristic mask when he is frozen and reanimated in the year 2455.

What kind of “mask” does Jason wear in Friday the 13^th II? Not a hockey mask, instead an uncreative white pillow-case-like thing, put on at the last minute (below). Jason later needed more style and replaced the teeny pillow case with a scarier hockey mask.

Alice Hardy played by Adrienne King. She killed his mommy, but he gave it to her good in Friday the 13^th Part 2. Freddy Kreuger is not on his good list either when Freddy tries to recruit him to kill Springwood’s children, eventually at odds with one another. Two big egos just can’t get along.

Camp Crystal Lake. Has been known to take trips to New York City, Higgins Haven, Springwood, Ohio, even into space!  In Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, Camp Crystal Lake renames itself to Forest Green to distance itself from its bloody reputation.

 His crazy, murderous momma of course. Pamela Voorhees, played by the great actress Betsy Palmer. She was the first killer in the Friday the 13th series, a well-known fact.

Kane Hodder (right) played Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988) to Jason X (2001)!

Jason was awarded MTV’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 1992. Along with Godzilla and Chewbacca, he is the only fictional character to receive the award.
